Stay Connected
Artist: Lindy Cook ; Cabot
Tell Us a Little About This Mural:
Because of the technology we have today, we are more connected to the rest of the world than ever. I wanted to remind people to stay connected to our peers and neighbors. We often forget how important the relationships we have with the people in our lives are. It is important to be involved in your community and make connections with new people.
What is your art medium and/or special techniques?
I usually work in oil paint but I love all mediums. A lot of my earlier work is done in acrylic paint and drawing mediums such as charcoal, colored pencil and graphite. I also love to work in watercolor.
Where do you find inspiration for your art?
I want my art to evoke emotion for its viewers. Whether that emotion be one of familiarity, calmness or empowerment. I am inspired by people and the beautiful world around us. I am also inspired by emotion and the role that color plays in evoking that emotion.
Do you have any awards or achievements relative to your work as an artist?
I have won several scholarships and awards for my art including: 1st place Mixed Media -Arkansas Young Artist Association, Arkansas Young Artist association Scholarship, 3rd place duck stamp and scholarship, and I was a finalist in the Congressional art competition.
