The design inspiration for the #HeartOfCabot mural was drawn by Zoe Boshears, co-founder of Walk for Wheezy, just a few weeks after the first Walk for Wheezy event. Overwhelmed with emotion, Zoe sat down to draw what was in her heart: the pain of losing Eloise, the encouragement of the community coming together, the hope for research Eloise’s heart would provide. The piece is real and raw and beautiful.
Zoe explains her drawing this way: “I was reminded of the scripture prayed over Eloise since she was an infant, Psalm 76:23, which remains a verse implemented in the Walk for Wheezy organization still today. “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and portion forever.” I love that God designed Eloise with intention and without flaw, shaping and molding her perfectly. I love that He trades beauty for ashes (Isaiah 61), creating new life out of the tragedy of her death. “
When Zoe first showed us her drawing, we were moved: the piece connected on a deep level. We knew this would make a beautiful public art piece.
Seeing how Jessica Jones brought Zoe’s design to life on the wall – in bold colors – continues the message of hope and healing, and the mural provides a place to gather and celebrate our community.
The interactive element of the swing is a tribute to the full life Eloise lived.
We are so thankful for Zoe and the Walk for Wheezy organization.
We invite you to stop by and see the mural in person – tag us in your photos so we can celebrate with you!
